The first boxing game on Nintendo DS features 14 boxers divided equally into heavyweight and welterweight classes. After choosing a fighter, players will compete against up to six challengers for a shot at the title. There are a total of three belts to win, including an Amateur Belt, Contender Belt, and Showtime Belt, each offering three, four, and six opponents, respectively. "King of the Ring" is an endurance challenge that involves battling six opponents, one after another, in a single round. The action is viewed from a third-person perspective with a choice of touch-screen or directional pad controls. The shoulder buttons initiate left and right punches, while the face buttons control both dodging (left or right) and blocking (up or down). Players can also challenge a friend to a single bout with a custom number of rounds.
