Must be heard to be believed
I have 4 versions: the original 1960 LP, the 45 RPM reissue, and the hi Def FLAC version and if you have a system that can reproduce it, this particular version, I.E. the 24bit remastered, ruins all past versions. It is spectacular. If you have a tube system, or a low power audiophile type system, and prefer smoothed over, limited, compressed sound, don't buy it. Stick with previous low dynamics, slurred over versions. If you prefer stunning dynamics and rise time, this is the version for you ! Best ever sound reproduction of this group
This CD brings out the sound better than ever before. My old LP is still in good condition, but the CD has sounds I do not hear on the LP. This is one of the best percussion ensembles of the times, and this CD (Bang Baa-Room and Harp) is my absolute favourite of all their recordings. I could not believe my ears when I first played this CD on my pretty good hifi system.
