Ended up we had to swap as the large was too small around the calf for my wife. To be safe when ordering your size, make sure sure you check all the measurements provided against your own leg sizes (not just the shoe size). My only concern is whether the material would stop a snake bite. Other than the title, snake bite is not mentioned anywhere else in the advertisement. I would buy a thicker pair next time.
