    Good system - not the best if you have voicemail.

    Sound is great - super coverage. Seems to be sturdy. One annoyance: I have voicemail and don't use answering machine. Indication of new voicemail is very poor compared to my 7 year old Uniden system. The Uniden would flash a small red light if there was a new message waiting. This phone places a small black square on the non-backlit LCD screen: everyone in our home must pick up the handset to see if there is a dot showing.

    Handset would NOT unregister...

    The long story - I had a V-Tec phone setup (with four handsets) where the base station stopped connecting to the landline, rendering it useless. I bought the same system, hoping that I could connect the old handsets to the new system, giving me eight handsets. No dice - the old handsets wouldn't register to the new base station. Dang it, I REALLY wanted at least one extra handset - so I purchased this one. Unfortunately, this handset had already been "registered" to a different base station. I followed the instructions for "unregistering" it - TWICE - and with both of my base stations. I was able to unregister all the other phones as expected, but NOT this one. FORTUNATELY, the four old handsets DID unregister, and I was able to register them all to my new base station. SO, I bought one ...

    Exciting to find the right exact and extra handsets

    It was wonderful finding a pair to add to this older existing system! One of the pair of phones doesn't seem to fully charge, but works and that's what we were needing.

    cordless phone
