For high-resolution gaming, video streaming applications, and graphics-heavy media presentations, the tested AMD 443775-001 motherboard has all the power your HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop needs and more. The Compaq/HP Pavilion dv6000 laptops’ AMD motherboard core logic architecture consists of a non-ECC Intel 82940 chipset with a 533 megahertz cycle rate and 7-watt Thermal Design Point (TDP) designed to keep power consumption and board temperatures low. The Intel 82940 provides 512 MB of RAM (upgradeable to 2 GB) at a bandwidth of 8.5 GB/s. The motherboard’s Double Data Rate Synchronous Dynamic Random-Access Memory, or DDR2 SDRAM, runs the clock speed at about half that of the data bus while allowing a faster Front-Side Bus (FSB) speed – in short, your Pavilion dv6000-series laptop computer transfers data faster while consuming less system resources. The Nvidia GeForce Go 6150 GPU pushes the power your HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop and AMD motherboard needs to drive visually-intense applications and related high-resource software. PureVideo technology combines a high-definition processing core with native software so your HP Pavilion dv6000 series laptop runs 3D games and HD video without lag time. Nvidia PowerMizer technology works with the motherboard to extend battery life without sacrificing performance. When running a low-resource program on your HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop, such as a word processor or search engine, PowerMizer’s digital monitors minimize the output of the motherboard’s processing engines not in use. Conversely, when running a visually-intense program, such as a video streaming app, PowerMizer engages the motherboard’s processor engines, resulting in maximum power conservation in the HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop. The AMD 443775-001 motherboard for the HP Pavilion dv6000-series notebooks has a Socket S1 compatible with AMD’s Athlon 64 and Turion 64 mobile CPUs. Both the Turion and Athlon have a K8 architecture, store up to 1 MB of memory in the HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop’s L2 cache, and run at up to 2.6 gigahertz. The Turion, however, has an SS3 instruction set as opposed to the Athlon’s SS2 set, allowing the laptop to implement Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and perform 3D operations faster. If you use your HP Pavilion dv6000 series primarily for gaming, install a Turion 64. If you mainly use your HP Pavilion for word processing, web searching, and low-resource programs, go with the Athlon 64. The AMD 443775-001 motherboard has all the onboard connectors you need for your HP Pavilion dv6000-series laptop’s peripheral devices, hardware, and mass-storage devices. Two SATA HDD adapters connect the motherboard to the HP Pavilion’s hard disk drives; two USB (type 2.0) ports accept mice, secondary keyboards, flash drives, and low-power devices; and one expansion slot supports additional 2 GB of RAM to boost your HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop’s memory.
