Specifically, it is very hard to estimate the roast (light, medium, dark) because of the extremely long built-in cool down time. I like dark roasted coffee and after 8 roasts, I am still unable to time the roast properly. The roast is either too light or the beans are burned. I like many other aspects of the roaster but if the end product is not predictable, then I am going to regret this purchase. I'm still trying.

The temperature on the first one never got nearly as high as it was set to reach. The second one worked as it was supposed to, but the drums on both the first and second ones needed to be replaced. Replacement drums weren’t available, so I bought a whole new roaster. The new safety feature is very annoying, so I’ve only used new roaster once, and use the new drum in the old base unit
