      Solid, intuitive product

      I bought this for live playing and it works well. It is easy to set up and can be synced simply with MIDI devices such as loopers. The software is straightforward to use and the drums sound great when run directly into a mixer or PA. There's definitely a learning curve, but it's not hard to get good beats straight out of the box. Before this, I used drum machines or software, but the pedal format and ease of use make this one a much better product for a gigging guitarist.

      great machine but terribly difficult to customize

      I like the functions and it sounds like real drums....BUT, the editor is very weak. Also, the mapping of the BeatBuddy's midi is not standard so you must learn to remap all the midi; which is really time consuming. Another gripe for me is the lack of many styles of music. It seems they just care about getting you to buy their "Premium Content" stuff. Its a great machine but you better be happy with 80's -90's rock or be good at creating your own drum patterns on another audio workstation. I'm keeping mine in hopes I can find time to learn how to edit patterns on Reaper or something. So far I have gotten nowhere with midi mapping and arranging.

      This jewel out of the box is super easy and fun. No programming needed,just plug into a good amp or PA. Drums sound great,these sounds are made from real drummers! Get the foot switch,stop/start on demand,and a cymbal when ever you want it. Best drum mach ever!

      The always reliable drummer

      Very easy to use out of the box. Sound so real you'd think you have a live drummer with you. Still learning the programming of arranging song line up but video tutorials on YouTube looks like an easy thing to do. Makes guitar playing so much fun.

      An easy-to-use drum machine for the rest of us.

      This thing has a great sound and is very easy to use, with a bunch of pre-programmed beats, intros, fills, and outros. You can select the sound of the "kit" you want to use. This can easily be used at a live performance. The Beat Buddy uses a memory card. There are a lot of features and programming that can be done by people who like that sort of thing, but the basic features are VERY easy to understand and to use.
