It's a good firm cleat design from a trusted brand. Bolted these onto some Muddyfox cycling shoes from Sports Direct. These clip and unclip with little effort. I would recommend new riders to practice clipping and unclipping off the pedals at least 6 times off each foot before embarking on a journey... or you may find yourself coming to an unpleasant slow motion fall... Happy riding!!

Cleats do not appear to be genuine shimano. Not branded on cleats. Would not fit pedals. Actually went to bike shop to check and they could not fit. Finished having to buy new cleats there. Can’t recall ever giving negative feedback before but am doing so this time.

Very easy to fit to the bottom of the cycling shoe. The metallic look of the screw heads are better than the original ones that were fitted on the shoe when I bought it. Looks good and holds well onto the pedals

The cleats were absolutely fine but on both shoes when I unclipped some of the yellow broke off on the inside part (not the toe clip in part). It didn’t make any difference to my ride but I was just wondering why this may of happened as I aligned them where there’s cleats were situated.

I cannot say for sure that these are genuine Shimano cleats, but they were good value for money. Only issue I had was that screws provided with cleats worked loose and one fell out whilst riding which was inconvenient. I replaced them with another set I already had and they are fine now.

These cleats are the original and genuine yellow Shimano cleats. They allow more float for us amateurs that may possibly not have quite the right set-up and hence prevent us from hurting/injuring our knees. If you are a pro or are sure you have the correct set-up you may wish to consider red or blue cleats that have less float. All cleats do wear especially if you have to unclip regularly and put your foot down or you walk around in your cycling shoes i.e at coffee stops. Hence they need replacing fairly regularly. Normally these Shimano cleats are expensive in excess of £16 a pair and cheap Chinese copies are not worth buying. Hence to get the original and genuine cleats for less than £8 is a real bargain. Long may this price continue as I will definitely buy them again at this price.

Yellow spd-sl cleats offer lots of movement so you can get the position you need, if you like that kind of movement

Good quality. I've bought cheaper imitations in the past and they needed fettling to make them lock into the pedals. No problem with these

Good degree of float to help protect knees, easy to fit with a little care, trial and error with placement until you find the best angle for you
