      Love it

It's a great durable flip phone I bought on EBAY for under $100. I had a 6 year old CDMA Samsung Convoy that would not work with my new GSM carrier so I bought a run of the mill $50 flip phone that lasted less than 6 months. The Dura XE is superior to the Convoy (4G vs 3G) and I expect to have it at least 6 years. It has capabilities far beyond my needs (push to talk, email, internet) but it sure feels like it was built to last (like the Convoy).

      Looks good on the outside...

...unfortunatley, I must've gotten hold of a lemon :( When I was able to activate, the phone wouldn't hold a signal (no bars), see photo attached. Contacted phone service provider who checked our signal...we're fine, but phone wasn't. Refreshed signal, restarted phone multiple times, nothing helped; tested inside and outside, as well as in town--no bars. Battery life wasn't so good after only checking emails, 1/4 to 1/3 used up. Cover and phone looked clean overall, but charge cover (little side plate) wouldn't shut tight, compromising water resistance feature. Finally, the GPS as advertised is NOT a navigational GPS feature...so forget MAPS app, or any app...can't download. That particular feature was really important for me.

    • This does what it needs to do and does it well

Purchased phone for extended road trips, time on a lake or river or lake canoe fishing and knocking around downtown Detroit. It folds up a little bulky but a small price to pay for the worry free adventures. The cladding is decent armor. When I have my iPhone there is greater worry about damaging it. Losing it with all of my personal info etc. This phone does not attract attention in public. It works great for phone calls. I can hear callers clearly. When alone it is awesome on speaker. Very clear. I like keeping it folded and answering calls on speaker. Texting old style is a challenge. Relearning the skill quickly. Not made for intense messaging sessions. I did not buy it for that use. Email works fine. In a pinch I have looked up vendor or restaurants hours or location using Google. ...

    • Ok back up phone

It's an older style flip phone. Every time you turn it on it tries to connect to AT&t's online phone book app, which is really annoying. It doesn't do it well, it's not designed to do that kind of thing like smartphones are, it's difficult to navigate through the menus. AT&t is discontinuing support for 2G and 3G signals I actually even 4G if it isn't LTE. That being said this phone is LTE capable which means that after they have totally quit supporting the other signals it will still work which is what it needs to do so while I'm not a fan of the phone features, I can't argue with the fact that it's functional and it will make a phone call which is really what I needed to do at the end of the day I just wish there wasn't so much bloatware and a phone that's not designed to handle it

    • Not so user friendly Rugged Flip Phone

I am VERRY disappointed in the battery life of this phone. Despite the fact that I have the display turned way down, no key backlight and have it set up not to stay lit more than 7 seconds once opened, the battery won't even last a full 24 hours. I thought initially it was just a bad battery since this was not a new phone, so I purchased another brand new battery and it does the same thing. If you talk on your phone a lot it doesn't even last a full day. Plus, if you text and call a lot it has other annoying features. When use your speed dial keys to call someone first you have to hit the speed dial number then you have to press and hold the center button to "call". Then it won't place the call until after you have released the button. So it takes two actions to speed dialing ...
