The Guild DVD
The writing and acting for these webisodes is so smart and hilarious. All the characters can be analyzed & construed as slightly damaged in some way. The characters initially only have a tenuous connection to each other by their online fantasy game interactions. Virtual and real worlds collide awkwardly at first, as they realize they have little to nothing in common except their membership in the Knights of Good guild. Ultimately, these characters are more "whole" together then apart. Whether, their quests involve battling online monsters or defeating real world ones. I've watched this series online so many times for free and will watch it many more times on devices of my choosing (after converting the DVD's). Why purchase? Well, aside from obvious control issues on my part- the various ... The writing and acting for these webisodes is so smart and hilarious. Since, I've purchased this dvd set through a secondary market, I've literally denied the actors & crew their recompense for the hours of entertainment value they have given me. To atone for my thriftiness, I will enter a quest of my own: to purchase swag emblazoned with Guild logos and phrases from the official website at full retail price (gasp!). Totally, obsessively- fan'd.

The Guild is a show unlike any other. Although the show is available to be seen online for free, buying the DVD is worth it to have a continuous program. Most people won't get the references that the show makes to online gaming, however the script is written so that it's okay not to get some of the jokes because to a non-gamer it's just as funny.
