I really like these Promonitor 1000 speakers. Easy to fix if replacement parts are needed. Well matched to a Supercube 2000 for rocking bass.

Ordered 2 speakers but one is defective. One speaker sounds great but the other only clicks and chirps. I was sent a replacement tweeter which I installed but there is little difference. The speaker only plays very quiet at low volume no matter what the volume is set and very distorted. Waiting for return or exchange instructions.

My media room is 19'x14' with a vaulted 10.5' ceiling. I am using these speakers as my surrounds in a 5.1 setup. They are mounted on the angle to the ceiling using ProMount80. Installation was easy, although it took a good bit of effort to get the exact angle/direction I wanted. I have the Denon AVR-2112ci driving the speakers. The sound from the ProMonitors is exceptional; bright, crisp, and natural. With movies playing, sounds such as rain and background chatter are realistic. In fact, I have found myself turning around in my seat thinking my wife is yelling at me from the other room! With music playing, I can clearly distinguish different instruments and vocals on a CD track. These speakers are obviously not the best available. However, at this price, I haven't heard any better speakers. To get to the next level of sound quality, expect to pay hundreds more. And unless you have particularly keen or refined auditory senses, you most likely wouldn't appreciate the differences.Read full review
Don’t let the size fool you, These little speakers bring the sound !! I also purchased the def tech 2000 center channel and I’m in 7 heaven.

I paired up the Def Tech ProMonitor 1000's with a center channel 2000 from Def Tech, two PM 800's for the rears and a SuperCube 4000 for a sub. Super glad I went with the PM 1000's in the front vs the 800's. They provide a much fuller sound and complement the center speaker very well. The sub is probably a little more than the rest of this system can keep up with but then again, you cant have too much bass. For movies these speakers and the system is super solid. Very impressed. For music, where the fronts are more important, I think the mid rage is a little on the thin side, but for a true bookshelf/satellite speaker I didn't expect them to compare to a tower so they met my expectations. Very happy over all.

Not better than expected I already own definitive speakers and these were to round out my surround sound system. I would have give 5 stars but one the speakers has small tears in the top.

I've lived with four of these speakers for the last month, and they continue to amaze me. The first impression, out of the box, was created by their sleek, sexy style, and solid feel. Though made of plastic, it seems more like Bakelite, hard and very glossy. Don't let their surprisingly compact size mislead you. Rated at 91db efficiency, along with an honest low frequency of 40hz, they sound a whole lot bigger, and that sound is sweeet! I bought my first stereo speakers in 1974; they were the original, classic Advent Loudspeakers, and these D.T. 1000s remind me of them, producing the kind of remarkably pure and accurate sound you'd expect from far more expensive speakers. I couldn't recommend them more enthusiastically.
Great value and very full sound especially for a speaker of this small size

Loud immersive sound. They play hard when pushed and sound a lot bigger than what they look like. Clean quality sound. These are not some cheap Walmart box speakers they are worth every penny when attached to a very good a/v receiver and used as surrounds.

I have owned several Def Tech. I tried the SR8080s and PM800s as surrounds before getting the 1000s. The 8080s were very good, but I prefer direct radiators vs BPs for surrounds. The 1000s are a huge upgrade over the 800s. There is a night and day difference in sound quality, just fuller and richer. The 800s are good, but when compared to the 1000s they just sound small.
