These shims fill the gap between the neck & body completely giving you direct body to neck contact! MORE SUSTAIN!
These shims fill the whole neck pocket, which gives you total wood to wood coverage. No air gaps like when you use pieces of credit cards or picks to shim with, which leaves an air gap that robs you of sustain! I could tell the difference in tone as soon as I replaced the piece of plastic I had used before. They are a tad pricey, but worth it as to the sustain they give you compared to other means of shimming a neck! Like most things from Stew Mac, The next shims are clever, flexible and very useful for setting up problem necks on basses. Just know that the usual nine dollar charge is buried in the cost of the product
