Really good for different purpose.
I use this to repair the seals on my cast iron wood stove . Where the stack attaches to the main body of the stove. For 35 years I was not able to effect a really good seal. Now I placed some some of this Permatex 80355 Muffler and Tailpipe Sealer in place and then tightened down the flange bolts. Made a perfect seal. Since there is no back pressure I expect this to last for a very long time. I then went ahead and lifted up the top plate of the stove (cast iron also-very heavy!!) and cleaned the mating surfaces around the edges since there were leaks in several places(mating surfaces are about 3/8" wide). Applied Permatex 80355 to the surfaces that needed sealing and carefully lowered the top back in place. Tightened the 1/4" 20 bolts . Same results, a perfect seal with no leaks!!. Again, ... This is the first product that I have used that has been outstanding even though it was not used for the intended purpose.

Very good poduct for the price. Made in U.S.A., easy to use, just like sqeezing out toothpaste. Filled the small hole I had in an exhaust pipe, cured quickly to a substance that really felt as hards as metal, and the same color gray. I let it sit over night before driving, it didn't say that was necessary but I wanted to give it the benefit of more time before using the car. So far it's holding up, it's only been two weeks, hope it lasts a while. 9 months for even more I'll be saitisfied.Very good poduct for the price. IT WORKS! Follow directions.
I had an exhaust flange that kept blowing a gasket. Even a new replacement gasket would leak due to the warped flange. I followed the directions on this stuff and fixed the exhaust leak. I was going to replace my exhaust if this didn't work. IT WORKED!!! I saved much $$$$$$
