  • Valuable basic information for doll costuming

I’d forgotten I had this book decades ago and it was like visiting an old friend to read all the articles and how -to do things. Easy reading, you can put down & come back to it. Heavily illustrated with antique illustrations. Lots of basic sewing and fabric handling techniques that really come in handy, as well as 19th C techniques that many may not be familiar with how to accomplish. Lots of good ideas! I’m so happy to have this book once again!

  • A pictorial view of childrens fashions

I love this book. It is my favorite book to use when sewing for antique dolls. I bought this copy for a friend for Christmas! The book shows you how to sew correctly for antique dolls; cartage pleating, making your own pleater, making doll stands that hook into corsets for french fashions, decorating with ribbon techniques, choices with fabric and correct colors and it includes a pattern to get you started on an outfit. These ladies are the best at writing pattern instructions.
