About this product

Product Information

Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie - a.k.a. Flight of the Conchords - have been living in New York in the hopes of forging a successful music career. Unfortunately, despite their status as "New Zealand's 4th Most Popular Folk Parody Duo," fame and notoriety continue to elude them. Helping them navigate the strange new world of the Big Apple is Murray, their devoted manager and New Zealand's Cultural Attache; Mel, their obsessed (and only) fan; and Dave, the local pawn shop owner and de facto counsel for how to assimilate in America. Watch as the guys contend with unrequited love, inept criminals, prostitution, and epileptic dogs, breaking into song as they clumsily try to break into the New York scene.Synopsis - Flight of the Conchords: Complete 1st Season (2007) "Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie - a.k.a. Flight of the Conchords - may be "New Zealand's 4th Most Popular Folk Parody Duo," but in the USA, finding someone who knows their act is about as easy as finding a kiwi nest in Central Park. To rectify this oversight, Jemaine and Bret have moved to New York's East Village to conquer America, one fan (literally) at a time."Synopsis - Flight of the Conchords: Complete 2nd Season (2007) Despite living as Big Apple bohemians for over a year, Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie ("New Zealand's 4th Most Popular Folk Parody Duo") remain as hopelessly out of place in Manhattan as a kiwi in a pigeon nest. Will Season 2 bring them excitement, romance, and the elusive music gig?

Most relevant reviews

  • Innocence and ignorance entertains

Dry dead pan humour from innocent and ignorant likeable characters who can't see their stupidity like the audience can who seem to relish the opportunity to laugh at their folly and constant pathetic stuff ups. It's the innocence that may attract some compassion and clever satirical songs and senarios that seem to save the characters and show from complete derision. On the surface the show appears 'dumb' but beneath the surface is slyly critical of cultural norms and the music industry without offending
