I'm a longtime follower of exercise inspiration Leslie Sansone. She isn't one of those skinny, stick figure trainers that regular folks cannot relate to. She is shaped like a healthy woman and her personality is one of encouragement and a love of fun! Having used her exercise videos off and on for many years, I bought this DVD for older adults because I have a number of health issues I felt sure would be addressed. Her programs are known to be the kind of exercises that can be modified. I have difficulty with standing and walking. Even so, I decided to give this DVD a try. I modified the leg movements by doing them from a seated position on a tripod stool. This allowed space for full steps, knee lifts, side steps, and kicks, while I stayed seated. Also interspersed with the walking exercises, are muscle building exercises for all four limbs. Light hand weights allow for a more intense experience with short periods of crunches. Like all of Leslie Sansone's workouts, this DVD for older adults has inclusion of any person who would like to participate whether able to walk or not. I am enjoying getting in better shape by exercising regularly with Leslie Sansone and her encouraging words throughout. I highly recommend this DVD to anyone who wants to get in better shape, and especially those who might be excluded from some other workout programs. I have bought several workout DVDs for my mom before but my mom did not do any of them. But this one, she tried and really liked it. It is easy enough for her and does not push her beyond her abilities. She now does it almost 4-5 times a week and she says her arthritis is feeling much better and she has more energy. If it makes my mom happy, I am happy. Thank God, finally found something for her so she can exercise regularly. Being 70, exercise should be part of daily routine. This workout does it slowly and causiously and my mom likes it very much. In this video Leslie does not use any other people in her workout which makes it easier for my mom to concentrate on her only.
This is good, but somewhat strenuous for older adults. I work out regularly, but found this to be a little more than what I expected. Didn't realize it included weights. However, I will continue to use it, although I may need to modify a little. Love my previous Leslie Sanson DVDs! By the way, I'm 78.

I first found Walk Aerobics by Leslie Sansone (Tommelleo) about 20 years ago. As the name says, it is based on walking and provides an aerobic workout that is simple and effective. This DVD is my fourth Walk Aerobics and adds light weights for strengthening to the basic walk aerobics concept. Leslie provides easy to understand instructions and an enjoyable workout including cool down stretching. Great program -- especially for one with a sedentary job who hates gyms.
