About this product

Product Information

Although it offers its share of authentically equipped, WWII shooter action, Brothers in Arms is a squad-based game that requires players to manage and deploy their three-soldier teams intelligently in order to meet mission challenges. Instead of a straightforward run-and-gun progression, the game's situations are designed such that players may need to move their men around the battlefield to recon the surroundings, provide cover fire, and pin down the enemy, before they move in for the final kill.

The adventure begins with the D-day airdrop over Normandy, and missions follow situations faced by various members of the real-life 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment. The player's character, Matt Baker, is also based on the stories of an actual World War II paratrooper.

In addition to its action and tactical challenges, Brothers in Arms also incorporates some role-playing styled decision-making. While the game's AI is intended to provide for competent, self-preserving squad-members, is also endows them with human wants and fears. Baker must consider his teammates interests as if they were real people -- his "Brothers in Arms" -- in order to keep their trust and have them follow his orders effectively.

  • Family Friendly or Limited to Mature Users?

I decided to buy this game because I heard that it was a great game. Very Action packed and realistic to real life WWII experiences. What I found was a game that met the realistic views of real life WWII experiences, but was accompanied by very strong language, unsuitable for children within the first five minutes of the game. I strive to keep a home atmosphere that is family friendly, so I would give this game a 5 out 10 for family friendliness. And I would not recommend this game for children under the age of 18.

  • Brothers In Arms Road to Hill 30 PS2

Brothers In Arms Road to Hill 30 on the PS2 is ok at best. The graphice are terrable, you feel like you are playing the PSP version. Only two options that really don't change the game. The only good thing about the game is the controls. I didn't want to play this title for more than two minutes so I didn't even bother with the online play. I would only recomend this title to anyone stuck on the PS2 and if you can get it for under $10.00. Or if you have an Xbox console to just get it on Xbox. Notes: This review is for the Playstation 2 Version.

  • An Okay game, but thats not all bad

Ive plaid BiA:Road to Hill 30 on the Xbox prior to this one, and in my opinion, i prefer the Xbox version over the PS2 version. Don't get me wrong, the PS2 version has all the same cards and characters as the Xbox, but i feel the PS2 version is a "dubbed" down version; there isnt as much detail in the game. Side from that, it has a great story and a must have for any serious WW2 gamers

  • Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30

Bought as a gift for my son, therefore I have no opinion of this game. But since my son has liked all his other Brothers in Arms games he has, I'm quite sure that he will like this one as well. He likes the realistic action that takes the player of the game into the midst, and makes them feel as if they are truly a part of this whole game.
