About this product

Product Information

Talisman of Fate is a 3D fighting game based on the Xena: Warrior Princess television series starring Lucy Lawless as the titular heroine. Ten characters are playable, equally divided among the forces of good and evil. Representing the "good" are Xena, Gabrielle, the clumsy Joxer, master thief Autolycus, warrior Ephiny, and sage Lao Ma. Those opposed to Xena and her band include goddess Callisto, god Ares, Gabrielle's nemesis Velasca, Roman Emperor Caesar, and boss character Despair.

Character possess a distinct primary weapon and use special attacks that mirror those of their television counterparts. A total of four game types are available: Quest Mode, Vs. Mode, Roster Mode, and Practice. Quest Mode involves trying to win an ancient artifact by defeating all fighters in succession. Each fight consists of two rounds and two players can join forces against the computer challengers. Vs. Mode supports up to four players simultaneously. Teams can be customized so that one character fights three, or two fight two. Computer-controlled characters can also be added to the mix.

Roster Mode is similar to Vs. Mode with one key difference: players can choose multiple characters before battle. If a player loses a character in a fight, the next character on the roster will take his or her place until none remains. The final mode, Practice, lets players hone their attacks and basic moves as they compete against a powerless computer opponent. Xena: Warrior Princess offers three difficulty levels and adjustable round settings. Players can also customize the controls and save this configuration to a Controller Pak. In addition, battle-hungry warriors can "feel" each blow with the Rumble Pak accessory and experience high-resolution visuals with an Expansion Pak.

    N64 Game

It’s the game I bought, but it was carelessly thrown in a shipping envelope. It wasn’t wrapped in anything to protect it against the rain. Luckily I got it from the mailbox before it started pouring.

  • Xena meets mortal combat

I have fun playing this game; which you can play on easy, medium, or hard. The later is near impossible, as you will have to fight 2 people at once. The game is easy or hard nor only by difficulty setting, but what character you pick. Xena is the fastest & easiest. Ares is hard, as is Joxer, cause they are slow. There are codes to unlock, so you can play as the villian, "Despair," or do other things like have Xena fight Gabriel instead of Hope. Some codes, however, are useless, like Titan mode. Why there is no Hercules or Iolaus in this game is beyond me. If the fates looked into Xena's mind to see the heroes, they would definitely have seen Hercules. It's fun cause you can play for a few minutes without having to get caught up in a long story line, but that's about it.

  • Xena kicks butt....you'll just wanna kick this game

In 1995, Xena: Warrior Princess revolutionized the female heroine. She was living proof that woman can whip tail ends and look as good as the guys any day. And Lucy Lawless just looked good anyways...sorry ladies. So it's no wonder that considering Xena's success back in the '90s, that someone just had to try and use her name sake to milk the cash cow. Now usually people shouldn't have much of an expectation for movies or TV shows converted into games, because these sorts of titles can be stinkers. And Xena: Warrior Princess-- The Talisman of Fate shows us that Xena should have stayed on our local TV stations. The concept is fitting enough for an action packed show...it's a fighting game. Xena and her friend Gabriel must fight through multiple favorites from the hit TV series Street ...

  • The Talisman of Fate, Definite Gem just to have as a collectible & play.

The game is based off of the tv series xena warrior princess which spun off from hercules legendary journeys, Both shows were great to watch both lasted 6 years on air, I would say out of what the tv series was about the game could of had a an adventure storyline type thing but basically its just fighting to defeat some of xena's past rivals. You would have to be a fan of the show to just really take in the appreciation for this game still a 4 out of 5 game to play.

  • Decent game
