    Excellent performance for home use with Unleashed FW

    Works as expected. Its target is corporate use, so the retail/new price is probably too much for home users. But if you can snag one used on here at a good price the performance is excellent. And nearlyall of the R-series (except for the R700) can be flashed with Ruckus' Unleashed firmware and used without a controller. Note that this is only an Access Point (AP) and does not perform any routing functions.

    Great pro-quality AP that is excellent for home or SOHO use.

    Wifi is now a "solved" problem at my house. This was really easy to setup with the unleashed firmware. It works better than any AP I've had before, even the Ubiquiti APs that are so popular. I don't need to run any controller software for this either, because it's all built-in with the unleashed firmware. I have it plugged in to my router and I get great coverage in my house and fast speeds. It's true that it's an older model and is only Wave 1 AC, but my devices don't support the Wave 2 features anyway. I figure that when the time comes and I get new devices, I can get another used Ruckus AP at that time - like the R510.

    Good SMB Access Point

    I've been happy with the R500 (I now have 3 of them in an Unleashed config). Not the latest model, but it certainly does what I need it to for a SMB wireless network, and Unleashed makes management easy. Range seems to be superior to what it replaced (Netgear) and the access points don't "fight" with the devices.

    Easy to setup and use

    I flashed 2 of these to the unleashed firmware and it has been super simple to manage my home wifi. I get 300 Mbps in all of the rooms in my 2 story house with just 2 of these AP's. Solid coverage and sleek interface.
