    Kings hit it big finally in states....

    I have been a Kings of Leon fan for as many years as they started putting out CDs. Although getting good reviews for their previous music, for some reason the masses did not seem to appreciate them very much except in Europe. Mass appreciation doesn't mean much to me as far as my musical tastes go, but I have no problem with Kings of Leon getting it with Only By The Night. I hope fans of this CD will now check out their earlier work. Some friends of mine asked if I had heard of them a few weeks back because they had the new CD and loved the song Sex On Fire. I laughed because I have been listening to them for years, saw them in concert once opening for Dylan, and, yes, I like Sex On Fire, but there are even better, more lyrically meaningful songs on the CD in my opinion.     This Generation's Incarnation of Journey

    Take this with a grain of salt... I'm not a music aficianado (spelling? :). But this album ROCKS! I listened to the album straight through upon receiving the CD. There were a couple songs that weren't "awesome", but I felt like it was worth every penny I spent. The radio gives play to a couple of the songs on the CD, and they deserve the playtime. But it is easy to see that the radio is focusing on the wrong songs on the CD. Kings of Leon is this generation's incarnation of the old time hair-city band, Journey. From the lead smokey tenor, to the rocking blues feel present in each of their tracks, these guys could play in an arena or the bar down the street and they'd fit right in. I hope you enjoy the CD as much as I do, and Shop Victoriously! - C

    YES! There IS STILL Hope For Todays Music! :)

    It is so nice to finally hear a newer band with a refreshing sound! I LOVE KINGS OF LEON! It is raw yet beautiful and soulful, and will leave you optimistic that there really is some hope for new music beyond meaningless lyrics and computer editing! This CD is amazing...it would be great for a road trip as it takes you on a trip all on its own, from heartbreak and longing, to fun and playful, to raw and wild back to the haunting soulful end track...Its been awhile since I have heard a newer CD that left me feeling like that...and I mean its been awhile as in... the 90s grunge era! :)Well Done KOL...WELL DONE!
