Harder than Softer
So my MD441U does fit the case perfectly but the old style mic clip is what it likes. I have the old one that has the funky clip mechanism and I also bought the new non clip version. You can make the newer non clip version fit the case but it will be a little loose on the mic. Not a big deal. It's harder than the soft case but not as hard as I was expecting. But will probably stand up to road use better than the soft case. The hinge is only flexible plastic. Was hoping for a better design for a simple hinge. German engineering?.........NOT! especially for the price! There is no envelope space for manual or freq. response chart. If you have one of those 441 windscreens there isn't a lot of room for one in this case. You might be able to squeeze one in but a little indentation in the foam to squeeze one in would have been nice.

Much better than the old original case that came with this mic. More protective, better foam that won't degrade anytime soon.
