A D&D version for all my moods

I read many other reviews of the PHB and waited a long time before I purchased it. I was missing out on a very impressive edition that reads well, plays easily and feels good. WOTC returned to the origins of D&D and recaptured the simplicity and opened up the classes to characters I want play from fantasy novels and epic films. The background creates a sense of purpose without forcing or restricting me as a player. The great thing is that this version encourages greatness without handicaps. It works when I want to optimize the numbers, role play, explore or just have a casual gaming session. This is my D&D.

  • Try some thing new and make new friends with a new 5th edition players handbook.

This is the only book you need to start on a role playing adventure of Dungeons and Dragons. It walks you through the process of creating a character (like in a novel) and how to play the game. A Dungeon Master is required also. And the more players you have, the more fun it can be. Having played for most of my life, I would recommend joining a group from a local hobby store. Or searching for some on the web. I would also suggest taking a friend or 2, to see what the worlds best role playing game is all about. This is the current version of the book. It is the fifth edition, and a good version. Make sure you don't buy an older version, unless you want to specifically try the older one. Note the cover shown here.

  • Dungeons and Dragons Players handbook, 5th edition

Well it's different from 3rd edition and way better then 4th. It's almost like a reset on D&D. It makes the players have to role play more then 3rd and defently more then 4th. Its easier then 3rd but not so easy it's boring like 4th edition. Also there's no prestige class anymore, you basically do that at 3rd level for most classes. The price I got it for was well worth it as well. Only down side to 5th edition is that wizards of the coast priced it so high. I haven't played a 5th edition game much but from what I can tell its definitely better then 4th. Well any edition is better then 4th.

  • Great for players new and seasoned

5e is the best D&D to date. Easy to understand and more common sense then older version of D&D. This book contains all you need to know as a player!
