My son is obsessed with this game. Though Batman is clearly heroic, he is nevertheless ruthless. He may not shoot with a gun, but landing hard on a villian's throat with your knee seems pretty darn close. I know that would kill me. Our kids are riveted by these images. I want him to be happy, but at the same time I don't want him getting too influenced by these games; this is the only game like this he has. Our kids should be forced into doing chores and playing outside, no matter what kind of fight they put up. We bought him a trampoline on EBay; pricey, yes. But, in the end, well worth it.
I think the graphics are great but I still think the reviews are overrated. If you enjoy scripted games then maybe you will love it. I like multiplayer games where real people dictate how the game will go and make it much more enjoyable. Another thing is you have to figure out what the developer wants you to do before you can move on in the game, thats the only reason the game will take you a while to play because you have to figure everything out. But it does have some cool gadgets and stuff in the game, just not realistic fighting. very easy for batman to win all the street fights. The install process when you get game from buying a Samsung product will make you hate the game from the start. I almost couldnt get the game to download and install correctly and Samsung and game designer shold be ashamed of themselves. Google the complaints yourself.Read full review
2009 was one of the best release years in video game history. But one game in particular took everyone by surprise – Batman: Arkham Asylum. It shattered the stereotype that all comic book-themed games are lackluster and went on to become the greatest comic video game ever. This week’s sequel had a lot to live up to, and it definitely rose to the occasion. In fact, this sequel is so good, I think it will dethrone the original as “the greatest comic book video game ever.” The game is just so well made, from graphics and gameplay to story and features, it’s highly polished and an easy contender for Game of the Year. When you’re not taking on ten dudes at once like a one-man army, you’re using awesome gadgets and stealth tactics to solve the current problem. The game makes you appreciate the fact that Batman is more of a detective than superhero. Additionally, weaved throughout the story are levels where you play as Catwoman, which keeps the game fresh and prevents it from getting too repetitive. I could go on for hours about why the game is amazing, but i'll keep it short and just tell you that you need this game now. Bottom Line: Regardless of whether you are a Batman fan or not, Arkham City is an awesome game that anyone will fall in love with. It’s an easy contender for Game of the Year.Read full review
Spectacular graphics and effects. Gameplay progresses and forces you to learn new moves, combos, and new ways to approach situations. I have played 18 hours so far and Im only 38% done. Soo many side missions and you can literally roam the streets beating up thugs forever. The story cutscenes and sequences are very cool, all the classic Batman characters, this game came under the radar for me... but wow, very impressed. At release DX11 mode was buggy and low framerate, however there is patch available now and DX11 is working much better.
I actually own and have played Batman Arkham Asylum also. This game is extremely good. Graphics, gameplay, sound, and even the "voice acting" is top notch. I would recommend this game to any serious game collector, or gamer. This seems to be close to twice as large as the first Batman. I hope they move on to other comic book heroes for other gaming titles also. Pulls you into the story, and makes you wish it just wouldn't end. Sort of like a really good book.
Supersedes the original in every way, which was already a great game to begin with. A much larger area to explore, now with side missions, and much more diverse and challenging riddler puzzles. Far more characters than the original game, a longer single player campaign along with updated Combat and Predator challenges. Both of which can be completed with either Batman or Catwoman playable characters, not to mention Robin or Nightwing DLC! Can't miss PC title with a premier PhysX implementation.
This game is at least as fun as the first, the ablilty to snak attack an glide to far areas is excellent, small quibbles are the riddler trophies are sometimes nearly impossible unless you have extraordinary relexes. Some things don't make a lot of sense such why the joker did not take the cure and how he even knew Freeze had made it or where he put it. That actually may be explained somewhere in the overall picture its not a big deal. I give it a 5 anyway..
This game is all a sequel should be. It builds on the original, adding new features and expanding the existing ones. The only complaint I have to make is after you complete the main story, there isn't much to do. I don't know anyone who would find collecting green question marks for a few hours amusing, just so he could rescue the rest of the Riddler's hostages.
Great game! If you like Batman, then this is the game for you. It makes you feel as if you are The Bat himself: solving riddles, beating up bad guys, battling super villains, and using all the gadgets. The only negative thing I can say about this game is that the story-mode is to short. Other than the combat system, gadgets, and overall experience of the game is great. A+++++++++
Great game! This is a region specific game. I live in the U.S. and bought an India specific game. When you first install you will be prompted to download and istall an update in order to save the game. There are region specific updates and your IP address is region specific. You will automatically recieve an update from the same region as you IP-address. Here lies the compatability issue. Through redundant efforts I finally got the update through and played the game through to the official ending, ~35% of. I played it from "Hard" the first time and it is definately worth it.
