N64 is a great console, Largly due to these wonderfull games : mario kart both zeldas mario 64 007 goldeneye banjo series conkers bad fur day !! zelda ocarina of time Zelda majoras mask mario kart top gear rally beetle adventure racing. Graphics wise majoras mask wins, ocarina of time comes very close though. This console has had to compete with playstation 1. The n64 won the battle blindfolded. ok the playstation had better serious games especially gran turismo. and n64 had gt64 wich was very lame but hydro thunder was excellent . .n64 had twice the power, no loading times and looked better, IS better. I had an n64 for my 15th birthday years ago, it was so amazing playing mario kart for the first time. even today mario kart offers a very playable, skillfull fun racing game that never gets dull, ( untill you beat the developers best time trails over and over) which i did!!!!!, found every shortcut and beat the whole game many times. ( i did this too ) my emphisis for this game is not unusual, infact many people will buy an n64 just to play this game again , its this good i tell you. the n64 is a console still very popular with gamers of today and the reason is that games have been DUMMED DOWN !!! in other words, logic and skill are an increasingly difficult find in new games today, so the REAL gamers tend to vert back to real skill games, such as 007, mario kart, and so many more. these days you can start a level on any new game and the level will end without even touching the controller !!! like finding nemo !!!!, honestly try this game and let it COMPLETE ITS SELF !!!! MADNESS AND CLEARLY DUMMBED DOWN. oK BACK TO THE N64 I have said enough really, the controllers are super, the rumble pack was ahead of its time. The 3d engine works very smoothly. the only drawback now is that games are rare, conkers bad fur day and banjo tooie are expensive. majoras mask is getting this way, mario kart always sells for 10 to 15 pounds. controllers are about 8-11 pound too, The console is cheap still though at 7 to 15 pound depending on cables provided. Oh i have to mention the expansion pak. this bumps up the memory by 4mb, may not seem like a lot but it does make visual improvements and some games use it to speed things up and add character to computer players, make them more intellegent ect, like in perfect dark. Ok hope you enjoyed reading. If you fancy A bit of retro gaming that still uses skill as the main element then you cant go wrong with an n64. I have a bone to pick with all new consoles and that most new game developers arnt taking the time needed to make games Excellent, Graphics can be so much better, instead you still get characters with square heads and this is so last century, there is 128 bit to play with on these new consoles and graphics are very below standard! shocking in some cases!!, some games are exceptions and are very good but the majority im sad to say just dont put in the effort like they used to. One last word is this RARE, the game developers that made donkey kong country for snes, Rare will always make the best games I believe :D if its RARE, THEN ITS GR8 All these comments I have just made are personal beliefs or opinions and I will not be held responsible for any misleading/false information. As far as I know I have said all this information as a matter of opinion which Im sure will not be shared with everyone so dont take affence or anything please, take your anger out on mortal kombat :DRead full review
Beware that PAL N64s don't output in RGB. Using the output to scart or composite will produce a washed out image on your flat screen TV even with leads dedicated to N64 use. My SNES scart lead does fit but it didn't work with the N64. So it's back to the standard RF which looks not so good on a flat screen (it looks better on an old style TV). Original Jumper Paks are hard to remove. Analog sticks on the controllers are prone to wear faster than other parts of the controller.
Arrived a full 2 days earlier than expected in a really well protected box with lots of padding. The N64 is in absolutely mint condition, so happy with my purchase. Also worked first time which is always a bonus with old consoles! Highly recommend, will be purchasing from this seller again

The N64 truly ushered in the age of 3D gaming and had some properly amazing games. Despite coming second to PlayStation, it had some standout games and offered arguably the best graphics of the generation. In short, get yourself one and enjoy Mario 64, Zelda Occarina of Time, Quake 64, Doom 64, Duke Nukem 64, The Banjo and Kazooi games and of course F-Zero. Enjoy
