How excited I was to here that Cream recordings from 1968 were coming out! What took so long? The sound quality is good. Can get rid of some of my bootlegs now. Having said that, I was a little disappointed. Is it as good as live vol. 1 and 2, no. Is it as good as the live recordings from Wheels of Fire, no. But its Cream, buy it anyway.

The ALLMUSIC review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine is quite accurate! I'd suggest reading it and then making up your mind. The sound is better than any of the better bootlegs I have heard, especially the first three shows. The 4TH Disk Royal Albert Hall concert sound is, sadly, not quite up to the first three: sounds like mike placement gave a little too much room echo. Still, it is a great performance and well worth listening to. Value: I'd consider it a good deal at less than $50.00 Shipped for the CD set. Cream were an amazing band at their peak, and when they stretched out on tunes like "I'm So Glad" and "Spoonful"...well, it was kind of the "beginning" for Rock Jam bands (Ginger Baker would take issue, and say that Cream was a Jazz band, even though Eric thought it was a Blues band, and Jack Bruce would probably just have a good laugh). Getting back to the overall sound, I would advise these tracks for Cream enthusiasts who already have the official releases...it's going to be hard to beat the live sound on Wheels of Fire, Goodbye and LiveI and Live II. Start there, for certain. Then, if you want more, this should definitely be your next stop. The booklet is a nice touch, too! Read full review
