It is one of John Waynes best movie in my opinion. I always like the flying sequences. For anyone not to love this movie must not like John Wayne movies. I bought this movie because it reminded me of my military days in the navy, and I had not seen this movie in quite some time. It was a real treat to sit and watch a classic movie.

now there's a reason John Wayne has been called the only star Hollywood ever produced, a reason why women hated him and men worship him still; all those things are on display in this rather propagandistic 1950s period piece; once more it is Wayne to the rescue--as if there was ever a doubt the first moment he ambled across the screen in that inimcable gait of his, the product of an old college football injury--in a movie that might be better called "Angel and the Badwoman"; somehow, even when drugged John turns 007 before James Bond, outwits the entire air arm and KGB of the Soviet Union, bringing home a smoking hot Russian spy babe (though if all Russians had looked like Janet Leigh, there never would've been a Cold War at all); oddly enough, Leigh, among the reigning Hollywood candy ... now there's a reason John Wayne has been called the only star Hollywood ever produced, a reason why women hated him and men worship him still; all those things are on display in this rather propagandistic 1950s period piece; once more it is Wayne to the rescue--as if there was ever a doubt the first moment he ambled across the screen in that inimcable gait of his, the product of an old college football injury--in a movie that might be better called "Angel and the Badwoman"; somehow, even when drugged John turns 007 before James Bond, outwits the entire air arm and KGB of the Soviet Union, bringing home a smoking hot Russian spy babe (though if all Russians had looked like Janet Leigh, there never would've been a Cold War at all); oddly enough, Leigh, among the reigning Hollywood candy of her time, and deservedly so, out-acted John in several scenes--a fact which brings sizzle to the screen, no doubt due to their mutual competitiveness (can you imagine John Wayne letting it even appear onscreen a woman is outdoing him? can't you see every woman in Hollywood itching to try and put him in his place, if only to to save the besmirched honour of womankind?) so bring two cokes and a bucket of popcorn and add this red scare vehicle that is really something of a cartoon to your saturday matinee marquee;
