  • Nice Polaroid camera with good controls and excellent trickshot capability

Spectra was the successor to Polaroid's successful 600 series. Spectra cameras are physically more compact than the 600 series cameras, and came equipped with sonar autofocus, automatic exposure and a digital control system. There is a socket for remote control. The Spectra Pro has an LCD control screen that allows manual focussing, multiple exposures, timed exposures, long exposures and flash inhibit. It is the most sophisticated control system available on any Polaroid instant film camera, and can produce remarkable results with care. Unfortunately there is no Spectra equivalent of the excellent SLR680- if there was, it would easily be the best Polaroid camera. While Polaroid film is no longer available, the Impossible Project has some in development that will work in this camera, ...

  • 600 Polaroid

Film was excellent, but too wide for my Polaroid600 camera..ugggh. O well, I just have to find the right size film.

  • Great camera!

Top of the line Spectra camera works just fine; picture quality is superb. I much prefer the larger, "widescreen" format of the finished picture over the smaller 600 and SX-70 square picture format. Works perfectly with film by IMPOSSIBLE.

  • Consider the Age

The foil package contains the film inside the box was opened, so that tells me the box was opened and resealed at some point. Not a huge deal, but the film probably degraded even more since the foil seal was broken. The exposed film was not clear, but made for a good time experimenting with shots. Considering the age of the film I cant really complain.

  • Took a chance with old film

Not sure how this was stored over the years, but it has degraded past the point of properly functioning. It’s a risk with any of this old film, it’s a shame that Polaroid no longer produces spectra film.
