Awesome Equipment For Startup Home Studio

I am firing up a studio in my home and adding this to what I already own has cut my production time down several notches. Imagine what you can do with more inputs. In a couple of weeks I am buying more units and a mixer. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking to increase their production in the studio or even in a church environment. Fun and very easy to hook up and to use. It's a great product and bearing the Presonus name you know you can't go wrong. Awesome in every way!!!!

  • PreSonus Digital Recording Interface

I have an older iMac, mid-2010 with 16 GB of RAM, and run PreSonus Studio One 3 Professional recording software on it. The iMac has a Firewire connection and that is why this particular DI design was of interest to me. I connected/chained this unit to 2 other identical units that I bought new. It works as expected. For the price these digital interface units are a great choice when you are seeking a multi-input/output device. This allows me to leave various studio devices connected all the time rather than plugging/unplugging those devices as I need them. Using a PreSonus DI with the PreSonus Studio One 3 Professional software works great. No compatibility issues at all. None! Thus the whole set up was easy to manage and problem free.

  • PERFECT interface: clean pre's, great drivers, excellent converters!!!

Can't say enough about this interface. The ability to have 8 xlr mic inputs recording at once with as many outs as anyone could want plus the ability to daisy chain it with another firestudio project for the ability to record 16 simultaneous tracks with xlr mic inputs. Has phantom power, 24 bit - 96 khz recording, a great software package, mounts in a rack, seperate phone and volume control right on the front. I LOVE my unit, has transformed my home studio and I will buy another one once I start expanding my studio into a business. Funtions perfectly, great drivers, followed installation instructions and it has worked flawlessly with my windows vista 64 since day one...NO HEADACHES!!!!! I was looking at getting a 2 xlr input interface for about $250 new and got this for $300 on ebay ...

  • Works great with GarageBand too!

I bought the Firestudio to replace a mixer with Firewire interface from Phonic that had died. The Phonic mixer had already been replaced once right after I bought it, and after a few years the Firewire quit working. It had always worked unreliably from the get go in that in didn't always connect, and Phonic simply service does not exist. When it quits, it's no longer of any value. Anyway, got a great deal on this Presonus Firestudio Project and was hopeful that it would work with my GarageBand software running under Snow Leopard, and I have to tell ya, it works great, and it sounds great too!. I didn't use the "front end" processing provided by the Phonic mixer, preferring to record tracks dry, without tweaking of anything, and that's just what this does. I especially like the form ...

  • Excellence in Interfaces

After much debate, the church I work for has decided to upgrade our recording capabilities and we have purchased the Presonus FireStudio Project as a direct replacement for our Lexicon Omega 4 channel USB 2.0 recorder. Why Firewire over USB? Simply put: consistency. Although USB 2.0 claims to have a higher transfer rate, and although it may be true, it’s only at a burst rate. Over all consistency shows firewire to have excellent data transfer rates, and yes, although its “ONLY” firewire 400, there isn’t a whole lot on the market for firewire 800, and the makers of firewire are already looking to best the transfer rates of firewire 800 to compete with UBS 3.0’s upcoming release. With all this said, the overhead on processing is MUCH lower. My little rinky-dink Dell Optiplex GX280 3.0GHz ...
