The Hunt for Red October"
Years ago, I had a copy of "The Hunt for Red October," but I lost it somehow. For the last year or so, I've had a hankering to watch "Red October" again, and without finding it after several thorough searches of my house over the last 12-18 months, I finally decided to buy another copy, which I did! I like the suspense of "Red October." Even though I'd seen it years before and pretty much remembered how everything went, I still found myself literally on the edge of my seat with heart beating rapidly on & off throughout the movie! It has a very satisfying ending, as well. :-D The basic plot is that the USSR has developed a new submarine technology that makes a sub undetectable to anything the US subs are equipped with, and with only one purpose for being built: to start a nuclear war. ... The "Red October" is the first of these subs. Unfortunately for the Soviets, the captain of "Red October" is determined to get the "Red October" into US hands. Unfortunately for "Red October," the US Navy thinks the sub is going to attack the US and is desperately trying to find it and sink it. Worse--after discovering his purposes--the Soviet Navy is also searching for "Red October" to sink it. With both navies trying to sink it, how will "Red October" ever make it to the US coast, convince the US before it sinks "Red October" that it is surrendering and not attacking, and how can the Soviet captain get the crew to voluntarily get off of "Red October" and not "give it away" that "Red October" was given over to the US? Hmmm. Sorry, friend, but I won't spoil it for you! You'll have to watch "The Hunt for Red October" and find out!

Hunt For The Best Dad Gift
I really needed to find something for my dad for his birthday but most gifts I found didn't really scream "dad" you know? This little gem crossed my screen and I just knew it was meant to be. My dad loved it. He even put it with the other 17 I've bought him since DVDs took over.

The Hunt for Red October
The director was very wise when he made this movie. I like the way he begins the movie and the way he brings in the Russian connedtion, beginning with his native language and slowly bringing in the English. The movie was full of intrigue and had Sean Conery as the Russian lead. This movie was well made and gives you the luxury of well what if?????

BEST MOVIE WITHOUT WOMEN EVER!!!
The plot was amazing, excellently executed by the remarkable Sean Connery without the aid of distracting women! Good for family, no worries about the kids seeing that gratuitous sex hollywood is so famous for!
