Perfect for cost and abilitry
This is an awesome receiver for the beginner audiophile. Loud enough with the proper speakers, and can handle many devices at the same time. ARC isn't great, and the remote is a necessity, but with a little research one can find all the appropriate cables and setups needed to have a smooth entertainment experience. Please purchase the remote with the device. Universals, so far, have not been able to acess all of the features and it is quite frustrating to get up and down just to change something as simple as the inputs. Also, big downfall, it doesn't have an adapter to switch from composite or component to HDMI. In other words, you need multiple cables running from Receiver to TV. not a big deal, but if you do not have said cables it can be frustrating.This is an awesome receiver for the beginner audiophile. Good reliable product
I was replacing a previous Yamaha AV receiver so I was already familiar with the product. This product is east to connect to all my home entertainment units. There are pre-set scenes for various types of movies and tv programs. The system uses a microphone ( not included, but I had my old one) to set the levels on the speakers. This system does everything that I need it to.

Great receiver, worthy successor in the Yamaha electronics tradition.
I had a 10-year-old JVC receiver that was adequate, but not great. However, it was starting to malfunction. So I looked for a new, better receiver. I already had a Yamaha RXV-2095, more than 15 years old, that I absolutely LOVE, so I decided to buy another Yamaha. I looked for one that had great 5.1 surround sound, had great sound tone, and was internet-ready. I got all three with this model. I absolutely love it! Great sound, easy to use.I had a 10-year-old JVC receiver that was adequate, but not great. However, it was starting to malfunction. So I looked for a new, better receiver. Second try for the right receiver made me happy!
I needed an amp that would do many different things. This one does them all and much more. Getting a receiver that could control many different inputs and play the audio from the TV at the touch of one button made my life a lot more enjoyable. I only have two remote controls on my end table. The one is only there when I need to control thing in my Smart 3D TV.
