    A Beautiful Rodgers and Hammerstein

    As a 1958 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, not everyone would appreciate this, and even the 2001 Television version has been sanitized, but the real essence of the story line deals with racial intolerance and prejudice, so those who would be offended might consider that the original story should remain intact. That is what this release does, and deals with the normal trepidations of young love, especially between unlikely cultures.

    Highly Recommended 1949 Musical Classic

    This 1949 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical has excellent plot, choreography, music, acting, singing and costumes. Even my husband (who calls it jokingly a “chick-flick”) has watched it a couple of times now and says it is a well-done classic. I would highly recommend it!

    A great DVD

    As far as I know this is the only DVD version that has the long, early theatrical release of the movie. Quite valuable for Rogers and Hammerstein musical fans.

    SOUTH PACIFIC 1958 film

    SOUTH PACIFIC has been a favorite for many years. It was a long time since we saw the film, and it was a PERFECT gift for my gentleman friend's 87th birthday. We both love music, and the show has so many wonderful tunes.
