Echo SRM-225 Gas Tank Modification
If you purchase this for a Echo SRM-225, you will notice the replacement rubber grommet/tubing assembly is much larger than the ID of the gas tank hole. If you force fit the new grommet, it will collapse some of the tubing. I was able to accommodate for the size by opening up the hole of my gas tank with a dremel tool using the 120 Grit Sanding Band. Prior to retrofitting, make sure you clean out your tank, of course. Empty all gas, clean out with soap and water, blow it out with an air compressor, and dry best you can with a clean shop towel or rag. Make sure no gas fumes are present, prior to turning on your dremel. Also be aware that the gas tank is made of HDPE which is a soft plastic. Start with the slowest setting, as the sanding band will remove a lot of material very fast. ... Remove any loose material around the edges, blow out any loose material from the inside of the tank. Try fitting the new grommet assembly, after taking your first pass around the ID. You definitely don't want to remove too much material, or you will find yourself having to create a modification to your modification! Use a flat head screw driver to help encourage the grommet into its home.

Not a perfect fit for the SRM-225
I bought this one cause of all the positive reviews and to save a few dollars. Now I wish I went with OEM. Cons: - The black grommet with 3 pipes that connects to the fuel tank is about 1/3 bigger than the original so expect to reuse the old one with the new hoses. - The new hoses don't fit snug in the OEM grommet lol so there might be some leakage. - It idles so high that the string never stops spinning so expect to be able to adjust the jets H & L or take it to a shop and pay to get it done. Pros: - Good deal if it works for your machine. - Shipped fast.I bought this one cause of all the positive reviews and to save a few dollars. Now I wish I went with OEM. Great product and price
This was one of "too good to be true" moments when I saw the carburetor with the additional parts included. The price was so low I had second thoughts about ordering it. For about the same price as my local store sells just the replacement fuel/bypass/fuel filter kit, I received not only that but the carburetor, air filter and spark plug. The installation of all of the parts took no more than half an hour and the trimmer started on the second pull. No adjustments were necessary and it's running like it's brand new (7 years old). May or may not fit properly
I like everything about this product, except that the rubber grommet in the kit did not fit the fuel tank of my Echo SRM-225...it was too large. I was forced to re-use my old grommet, which didn't exactly thrill me. At the same time, it's an aftermarket part and that's the risk that you take when you don't purchase OEM products.
