    Works great, but had to add new batteries after two months.

    This burner works better than my more expensive Perfect End burner. I use it for beading, and it makes a perfect little ball at both ends of my Fireline, when I am adding more.

    Purchased two and neither works consistently

    The thread zap is a great idea. I need it to seal thread on macrame bracelets to keep them from unknotting and to cut the thread on beaded bracelets. Unfortunately, neither thread zapper works consistently. I have swapped out batteries several times (even though they were brand new) and the tip, but they still don't work properly. It may heat for a second or two, then stop. Or won't work, then will for a short time, then won't work. Very disappointing - and frustrating!

    Works So So

    Never had a bad experience with anything from BeadSmith. This item seems pretty solid and well designed, but for some reason this unit only gets warm enough to just barely melt thread or nylon line, but it does not actually get hot. I even tried a new set of fresh batteries and swapped the filament with the included replacement with no change in the result. The cutter filament should actually turn red-hot. Maybe a defective unit; may not be typical of all the Beadsmith Burners.

    Beadsmith Thread Zap Ultra

    The Beadsmith Thread Zap Ultra is an excellent thread zapper. It is easy to use the tip heats quickly. The advantage is the replacement tip is in the handle of the bead zapper. There is no removable cover, but you must keep track of the yellow safety clip. The safety clip is essential so the tip is not heated accidently.
