    Read description carefully

    Since this is a "kit," I assumed that would be able to fly it. Not so. If one would want to actually fly it, there are several items that must be purchased before flight. Those items are listed in the instructions: Porta Pad II launch pad Electron Beam launch controller recovery wadding (302274) igniters (with engines) igniter plugs (with engines) Estes engines 1/2A3-2T (first flight) 1/2A3-4T, A3-4T, A10-3T I expected to fly the rocket with the items in the kit. Don't make the same mistake I did.

    A Great Rocket For Beginners & Students

    This is a truly classic little Estes kit. First appearing in the Estes lineup in 1988, it has been a solid fixture since. What the Gnome has going for it is utter simplicity. Its current colors (which dates back to the 1990's) mean that the model requires no painting. As for construction, all you need is a hobby knife and super glue, which is recommended, as you will need it to attach the fin unit and launch lug ring to the body tube, as well as assembling the nose cone. The only issue with the model is that the streamer is a tight fit. Make sure that it is rolled as tightly as possible, and that the wadding is loose. Otherwise, this is great model for beginners and educators and is highly recommended.
