Almost overnight, the Milwaukee-born pianist became a national phenomenon, sustaining his popularity as a TV star for years to come. Syndicated across the country, the "Liberace Show" proved to be a ground-breaking TV musical series. For decades. Tapes of these historic programs have been in storage, unseen and unheard. Now the Liberace foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts is releasing a series of audio highlights of the "Liberace Show" for the first time. These performances capture Liberace's charm and virtuosity in perhaps their finest recorded moments. Backed by an 18-piece orchestra led by his brother George, he masterfully glides through a repertoire that mixes many diverse tunes and melodies.
