Absolute barn-burner without a premium price.
Samsung SSDs aren't the cheapest, but they're far from the most expensive, and you actually get something for the increased cost – primarily, blazing fast sustained write speed that is nearly symmetric with the read speed. Many reading this probably know the 840 EVO series (and the non-EVO 840 as well) suffer a problem where cells slowly lose charge once written, and the files within become slower and slower to read. However, the EVO series has a firmware fix that periodically rewrites the contents of the drive to keep everything fresh. (I wish I could say the same for the non-EVO drives, you have to do it manually with them.) You'll pay about a 20-25% price premium for a Samsung EVO drive versus the cheapest drive of the same capacity. You'll get quite a bit more than 20-25% better ... Samsung SSDs aren't the cheapest, but they're far from the most expensive, and you actually get something for the increased cost – primarily, blazing fast sustained write speed that is nearly symmetric with the read speed. Unless you have a system that is inherently limited to SATA II or (ugh) SATA I speeds, it's worth the extra money. Now if you're upgrading an old 945G netbook, it probably isn't. Go cheap there. But for anything with a modern SATA interface, it is money well spent.

This drive is fast I get to desktop in 10 sec, Windows 10 Home. Pretty easy to install. Drive came with Samsung software to migrate data from my boot drive, good instructions included. Highly recommend this drive.
