great beginner gimbal for mirrorless and other smaller cameras

This is an excellent steadicam system, especially for the money. It does take a little practice to get used to how to control it and all, but overall it works very well. The external controls are particularly nice to have. I haven't got the control cable yet to allow it to directly control my camera, but I'm hoping to soon. So far everything I've tested has worked very well, particularly the battery life which seems to last hours on end, certainly longer than my mirrorless camera. They are pretty reasonably priced for what they are, but getting a gently used one is a real bargain. Definitely a good investment if you're doing cinematic shooting.

  • Top critical review

Not enough features, no LCD. Unnaturally top-heavy.

It really felt limited and like it didn't have a "brain" at all. The tilt function, I'm not sure if it was just the one I bought, but it would force itself back to where I didn't want it to be. Setup was easy and having measurements made things a lot simpler. The build quality felt solid however, it lacked a lot that I wanted in a gimbal. It was too simple. It felt as though its only purpose was to stay in place rather than follow your subject. It also felt unnaturally topheavy without any counter-balance. I returned it and bought the Crane 2 which I wanted in the first place.

  • Crane V2 works great but get the control cable too

Works great makes videos very smooth. Once you figure out how to balance it it's pretty easy to use. I suggest you oil all the slides so they're easier to fine tune. Also order the correct cable from the gimbal to your camera as it doesn't come with the control cable and only the right combination of connectors for your camera will work. Also be sure you know the difference between a Crane V2 and a Crane 2 they are different. I liked the V2 because it's simpler and lighter. Your arms do get tired using it too long so the lighter the better

  • Works well with the Canon M 50

I have a Canon EOS M50 Paired with the Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 lens. The lens is a bit heavier than the Cannon 11-22mm EF-M, But the pair system is still under 720g maximum payload. My primary use is for Real estatevideo walk-throughs. I have been using a steady-cam but wanted a more compact and light weight set up. Balancing the gimbal was a little more fiddley than a steady-cam, but after setting it up a few times it got easier. The gimbal works very well for my purposes and produces very smooth video. As with all gimbals, you will need to take the bounce out of your step by walking heel to toe to get best results. My one complaint is that the gimbal is not Canon friendly, and will not the through Wi-Fi Interface, so the record button on the gimbal does not work. From what I understand it work perfectly well with Sony cameras.

  • It eliminates most all camera shake.

Arrived on time. Price was very good. Setup took a little time to read directions and understand operation. Gimbal movement seems to be a little abrupt and takes a good bit of practice to get smooth movements. It does get heavy after using it for a while. It eliminates most all camera shake.

  • Excellent stabilizer

It was in perfect condition, the battery were not even open so I bet it was a brand new one that was just behind a window for a « demo ». I recommend to anyone who wants to step up their game in video. It performs very well with my Sony a6500 and all my lenses.

  • GREAT product!

I was very excited to find this listing because it was exactly what I needed for an upcoming job. The design is sleek and the response is like butter (working with a canon 6d and the original BMPCC). The whole thing feels very durable and I was easily able to attach a 4K external monitor to the hand grips as well as an external battery pack. Setup is way quicker than using my old Glidecam, and you can still get those silky shots. Very pleased!

  • Love it

Outstanding gimbal for smaller cameras. Perfect for amateurs. I am using a Fuji X-Pro2 with a 21mm prime lens so as not to go over the weight limitations. The instructions that came with it were rather limited, but if you go to their website they have a full manual loaded with information.

  • Easy to set up. Makes any camera cinematic.

The Crane V.2 is surprisingly easy to balance. It frees your camera from the tripod, allowing it to roam outside, over rough ground, to run and climb. The Crane makes camera movement more natural, more human. Putting the Crane on a monopod turns it into a gib or, well, a crane. It has become an indispensable tool in my studio.

  • Just a solid gimal for price

This thing is perfect for my first gimbal. Doea everything i need but most importantly, its a quality build. Really only gimbal for the price that i personally trust. Im sure there are other options out there but this thing is just a dope tool. Period.
