With a solid cast link between the rocker shaft and the footboard, the direct drive assists the footboard back on rebound, giving the pedal a quicker response. A lot of drummers that play heel-down prefer the feel of a direct drive. The extra-rugged base plate makes this pedal especially appropriate for a heavy footed drummer. Wow
I like how light, fast and good looking this pedal is. After have used the DW 5000 for years I decided to change to the Yamaha. The quality, design and mechanics of this pedal is top notch!
