Garlic Cloves Tremble like Quivering Bowls of Jello

I bought the Kuhn Rikon garlic press for a female, non weight lifting, middle aged friend. She'd previously owned a Rosle garlic press and a Susi (both Swiss design as is the Kuhn). The Rosle literally fell apart after a few months of average non-commercial kitchen use. The Susi is one of the old style aluminum presses that begins to look battleship grey after a few runs through the dishwasher and needs to be cleaned with a street sweeper. The Kuhn is a great press for the money. It's ergonomic and the handles have a satin finish that improves grip. The top handle is curved to fit your palm. It's made of heavy duty stainless steel that should last for decades of home use. It mauls garlic cloves with ease. You won't be able to clean it with a quick rinse but the sieve lifts up to make it ...

      • Top critical review

Works fine, but there are issues.

First, the good part. Functionally, it works great and is super easy to clean, plus you can put it in the dishwasher. You can put peeled or unpeeled garlic in there and it does both, but with unpeeled, there is a lot of waste. Everything that gets stuck in the press pulls right out with your fingers, no trouble at all. Then it goes right in the dishwasher. Now, to the problems. I almost NEVER complain about a product, usually taking the approach that you get what you pay for. But this was not a cheap garlic press. Out of the box, there were numerous edges that I thought were too sharp for most people. I have calloused hands from work, and if I thought they were sharp, they were sharp. I lightly filed and sanded the sharp edges down and all was great after that, easy and safe to ...

      • Best ever garlic press

This is press easy to use and creates consistent size pieces of garlic so they cook evenly "Size Matters!" if you want all of garlic in a dish to cook even so you don't end up with a mix of overcooked small and bitter uncooked large pieces. This is the favorite on Americas Test Kitchen and the best I have ever used.

      • Best and Last Garlic Press You'll Ever Buy

I bought the Kuhn Rikon for my adult daughter. We've tried them all. This is the only one that cleans so fast and easily. It's heavy duty, stainless steel will last the rest of your life. It's the garlic press I've been waiting for all my life. You will not be disappointed. Williams Sonoma sells them. They cost more than others but they are worth it if you use garlic a lot.

      • Excellent product and an excellent price.

I'm so glad that I spent more than I really wanted to for this garlic press. It is so much better than any other that I have used. I have never spent this much on a garlic press; but it was discounted enough that I decided to get it. Now, I'm very glad that I did. Its worth it! At the price that I paid, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to own one of the best garlic presses available.
