Many photographers eventually come to realize that their camera's built-in flash has many limitations and that using an external AC/DC electronic flash may give them many more options when it comes to low-light photography. Searching on photo sharing sites will turn up a wide variety of cameras using a Soligor Flash. While often described as "vintage," the Soligor MK-6A can be used with most cameras to boost their ability to take low-light photos and to produce different lighting effects. This Soligor Flash may not have all the bells and whistles of a modern, digital TTL flash, but it provides the basic functionality needed at a fraction of the cost of an OEM flash. The Soligor MK-6A can be mounted on the hot shoe of many cameras (although it won't communicate with the camera through the hot shoe) or positioned off-camera to provide supplemental lighting. Flashes are high energy demand devices and this AC/DC electronic flash has the advantage of being portable (through use of four AA batteries), as well as the ability to be plugged into an electrical outlet for extended use. With its small form factor and plastic housing, the Soligor MK-6A flash is a lightweight and compact addition to any camera kit.
