    • True humility beautifully shown.

No wonder Peck was nominated for an Oscar for this. And it was his first film! It's a sensitive, carefully imagined portrayal of a missionary Priest in China. It was so refreshing to see a film celebrating what hundreds of men and women did unselfishly, including many I know personally. The true humility of a man of God was beautifully shown. Kudos to Mr Peck and to the director and whoever cast Mr Peck. It still stands as a really good film 75 years later.
