I also bought Mefoto Roadtrip CF to compare it to Velbon Ultra Luxi L. This tripod is about the same weight as Roadtrip CF but is more compact and faster to set-up. The feet were a little tight to turn and twist at first but just needed some getting used to in unlocking and locking the legs during set-up. I replaced the ballhead with Manfrotto and attached Arca-Swiss adapters that I already have. I can confidently mount my D810 with 24-70 or 16-35 f/4VR on it and it's solid. I also even tried my D810 with 70-200VR2. Great travel and compact tripod that I'll be using a lot on family trips and theme parks. It also attaches to all my bags nicely without adding too much weight (Lowepro Flipside 300 and Lowepro Protactic 450AW). I have yet to try it on my PeakDesign Messenger bag but I don't foresee any issues with it. Although the Mefoto had the monopod feature, I didn't like how the legs fold backwards which causes some adjustments just to strap it to my bags for transport. I ended up returning the Mefoto and kept this Velbon tripod. The $150 saved was a plus too.Read full review

Overall Super Tripod, Goes up high and pretty small close, leg angle, reversible, goes close to the ground, Good for Traveling, Rigid for weight, Good Ball head for DSLR, Sober but Pro Look Could be Better: A bit difficult to tighten, more time for each leg section, Mosses would be fine- Because metal can be cold and slippery finish.
