Larger size pola's can get frighteningly expensive. Hoya are certainly not the most expensive in this busy market. There's an excellent (very technically rigorous, using a spectro-photometer, no less) round-up of filters by 'lenstip' which rates the performance of Hoya glass above the even B+W (aka Schneider-Kreuznach, the spectacularly expensive German bits of glass!). Which was nice, as I've used Hoya filters for 20+ years. This is a nice pola, the frame doesn't encroach and/or vignette anywhere I can see, even at wide angles. Totally predicable. Darkens blue skies, kills non-metal refelctions etc etc. Stays at the angle you twist it to. Possibly a bit pedantic, but I much preferred the old round, knurled edged, screw-together Hoya filter cases to the new ones. The old ones go on for years protecting filters stuffed into bags and pockets. And polarizers are an on/off when required filter.Read full review

Very pleased with this - now I always buy Hoya as other cheaper ones have been a waste of money.
