I needed a preamp to connect between my older Kenwood turntable and my laptop so I could start putting all my vinyl on cd's. While searching ebay I discovered a number of offerings. As I pondered through the listings I settled on the Bozak Madisson CLK-PH8. It had everything I needed to complete my task on digitizing my LPs. External power supply, built in ground and more than one way to integrate it into the system. So far I have gone through about 50 albums and it has been reliable with no failures. Also, with the number of features offered for the price seemed to be an excellent value. If, like me, you're digitizing your vinyl collection but don't want to drag out your amp to go between turntable and computer, this is the unit you should seriously consider. Great price, sturdy construction and fast delivery. Read full review

Even though I never actually opened and examined "the nudes" - I trust the board is fairly large and the parts rather bulky than small. Not as much as in my other preamp, Hanss, but fair enough. Same said about the performance. They say the "American dream" of the preamp (Bozak) belies the price and expectations. So it does. Rather than letting through the cartridge character, it makes any one very transparent, atmospheric, balanced and wide-range. S/N ratio is the preamp's forte extending the cartridge abilities from very low-level to bursting sounds easily with no strain or peaky compression. Mids are in place, not at all thinned nor masked or anything. It behaves that way in any setup, always. With better cables - so much better, That's what I call clearaudio. I tried both RCA and DIN inputs with even results. I have impression of the manufacturer making improvements since an earlier sample on my hands sounded markedly narrow, stage-wise. Definitely, this latest one is balanced thru and thru. Advice: see to your cables' directivity and the phased in position of your mains plugs (hopefully you know about it). Why not 5 stars, ay? Okay, I wish the casing were somewhat heavier, massive, brushed alu. Perhaps, Bozak is up for another improvement. Read full review

I decided to insert this Bozak Madisson CLK-PH8 between my Technics SL-BD3 turntable and my Behringer FBQ3102HD Ultragraph 31-Band Equalizer. The EQ does have a preamp but, not designed for such low input levels. My sound was good but, I needed to add a preamp for sure. Sooo... I was on the workbench soldering one up and on a break, I decided to check for one here that may inspire some design additions. Well, I ran across this Bozak Madisson CLK-PH8 Phono Preamp and decided to give it a go since my end cost would be about the same. I am happy I did! I ran a (very important) ground wire from the Bozak to the turntable and EQ, scrounged up and hooked up another set of RCA cables then, dropped the needle. WOW, fantastic. Night and day difference. The input to my EQ is now operating at optimal levels with lots of headroom. The combination totally pulls out the nuances of the vinyl recordings and they sound so much better than CD's. The only problem is; now I have to listen to all my couple hundred albums again! Thanks to this great little Bodak Madisson CLK-PH8! Read full review

Really pleased with the sound after installing this with my onkyo head! Just plugged all in and sounds amazing. Hooked it into the CD input, no ground wire seems needed. No noise.

I have become quite skeptical of products any more, esp. when someone says how great the product is, yeal right! I checked out the Bozak Madisson pre amp and thought OK I'll try it! I hooked it up to my Yamaha CR1020 and played Steve Millers Jet Airliner, WOW! I couldn't hardly believe the sound coming throught my old speakers! The base and treble were just amazing! and this is on a 40+ yr old reciever! I was soooooo impressed I bought another one for a new Yamaha reciever that doesn't have a pre amp and the sound was great! You could pay a lot more for another pre amp but WHY if this one puts out this kind of quality sound!!!!!!!! Of course, just my opinion, but I'm impressed!!!!!!!!!!! Ken Lyttle
