I upgraded a lowly 2011 imac 21" from its i3 to this i7 which was the fastest it would support.. runs great 4 cores and 8 threads...ssd and 16gb ram makes it very fast... temps with the 2600s version are low at abt 35c....do not try using the regular 2600 with the higher base speed becus it Will run too hot for the thermals in the 21" case

Found this CPU to be the most cost effective per wattage used. Got a bid steal deal of 120$. :) Skipped the slight increase in performance from the 2600 (95W) and 2600K (95W) for the benefit of a cooler CPU that does well with my high end graphic card.
