Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Antiquarian & Collectable
A new edition of this poorly edited mass market paperback gets printed every year. While some of the information at the front of the book will be helpful to new collectors, I believe the scarcity of color photographs and the placement of stamp images on pages far removed from the stamp descriptions make this a poor reference guide. My biggest problem with this “price guide” is that the values quoted for mint sheets and plate blocks are vastly over-stated. Any stamp dealer would be delighted to sell to you at Official Blackbook prices. In short, you have no hope of selling your collection at the values shown in this book. I strongly recommend that invest your money in one of the other stamp catalogues listed above. The small incremental cost will be money well spent.
I like the compactability, taks it easily anywhere! It is highly informative and easy to use & understand. Nice to have photos of stamps along with the pricing structure of plate blocks, blocks, singles and whole sheet form; used and unused prices for stamps is nice too. the color section in the center is a nice touch. The price of this guide book is a real plus! Very affordable especially in comparison with all the others out there. I like that it uses the Scott number system too! Jam packed with valuable information, 656 pages
The book is very informative and well done. The one thing I observed right away; that would make it even better would be coloured pictures. The reason I purchased the book was I needed it to give me pertinent information on various stamps I have acquired throughout the years. I give the book an Excellent rating over all if the pictures were coloured I would give it a score of Perfection. P.s. The price is awesome too. I expected it too cost much more.
