I upgraded when my Pronto Neo finally gave up the ghost. For the price, it does very well. If you don't have experience with a Philips touchscreen remote, you'll want to know that you need to be able to feel comfortable programming on a computer. You'll need to go to their website and download the software to program the remote and set aside 5-10 hours or so to program it. If you don't mind putting that much into programming it the first time, then this is a very powerful remote that works very very well. Positives: Almost every hard button is fully programmable, so you have maximum functionality. The soft buttons have much faster feedback (basically instant) compared to the older prontoneo. Negatives: Some of the side hard buttons (channel and volume) have worn, so that they are difficult to press. So, it looks like after a while they can wear out. For some people, the time investment to program it properly will be a negative.Read full review
In spite of being discontinued, the Pronto line of remotes are the best remotes around. Even the original TSU1000 is ahead of some of the products coming out today in spite of being over 10 years old. The TSU-7500 builds on the successes and missteps of previous generations with it's top notch color screen (the best screen available in it's day and still not to bad for today's standards). The programming for these remotes is the most flexible and easy to use that I have seen. The software is designed to set the remote up your way, not the programmers way. I also have a TSU9600, two TSU-3000's, a TSU-3500, and a TSU-2000. In spite of the 9600 being significantly newer and more advanced, the 7000/7500 holds it's own against the new line. The other remotes share a significant bit of similarity with one another so I can transfer configurations between them fairly easily. A few Photoshop scripts that switch color/BW etc. but that's about it. I would highly recommend this line of remotes to anyone. Disclaimer: I was a dealer for Philips Pronto and am a dealer for several other lines. If I could get them new, I would still sell them. As it stands I am still buying them used an E-bay.Read full review
If you are an entertainment addict this is the remote for you. Everything you want...RF IR and programable. All this in a nifty sleek package. Before this unit I had simple multi device remote. The process of search in through the codes to find the ones that kind of worked was such a pain. After that I had the TSU6000 for several years. I am hooked on the Pronto Remotes. Now I go to the computer and learn the codes directly from the remote for the particular remote. No hassle, fast ans accurate. The TSU7500 has all the features that I wished had been on the TSU600. This is a remote that you won't grow out of!!! Philips simply make the best remotes on the market.
I thoroughly love my remote and could hardly wait to receive it, a definite upgrade from my TSU6000! I tried to install the enclosed software and received a near immediate error prompt from Windows 7. After much searching via the internet I discovered my precious TSU7500 will not work with Windows 7, 32 bit and the 64 bit version is out of the question! It does however, seem to work well with WIndows XP. Be forewarned!
