Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in iPods & MP3 Players
The iRiver iFP-795 (512mb) that I have has been the most rugged, well used MP3 player of all. I have listened to a lot of high quality music systems, and the sound from the iFP-795 beats them all. Incredible, clear music... from highs to deep lows of the bass. Battery life is excellent, with one AA battery(It's much better than a built in rechargable product that will wear out), and it can use either alkaline or rechargable. The best and most unique feature of the iFP-795 is that you can record Stereo sound with atleast 160kbs through a line-in jack at the top. You can also record the same high quality stereo sound right from the powerful FM Tuner(brings in stations very well), just by pressing the 'record' button while listening to that special hard to find song. AND the Voice Recorder works just as well, especially for all of those college students that want to record and download many hours of lectures at a time. If you look at the line up of MP3 players that are now on the market, none of them seem to compare to the quality and funtionality of this MP3 player, they have only brought up the price of other players by including color screens and huge memory(buy a Sony PSP if you really want a Multimedia player, for music only, stick to this). The 512mb size is sufficient to hold at least 80-100 of your favorite songs, which, if you really think about it, is about 50 of those CD's you may have laying around, once you take out the songs you didn't care to listen to. If you do have a lot of songs, there is a 1GB model, called the iRiver iFP-799, that is the same quality, only twice the memory. And as an extra two cents, definitely buy some SONY FONTOPIA EARBUDS for about $50.00. I promise the money is well spent when using them with anything that has a headphone jack, especially an MP3 player. The sound with the combination of the iRiver iFP-795 and the Sony Fontopia Earbuds (Model MDR-EX71SL ) is powerful and crystal-clear, the perfect duo in my opinion :)Read full review
First off this Iriver does what is designed to do well (play and record music). Also the software used to convert recorded files to Mp3s on your computer is very simple to use. I also have a high quality external mic that turns this Iriver into a great back up wireless mic for the events I film. (with a 40 hour battery life and a few hours of recording time at that!) I would highly recommend this product.
iRiver software works ONLY with Windows XP. If you do not own one, you need to use a simulated Win XP via something like VMWARE. If software is not recognized by Win XP, unplug the USB port and reconnect. Worth the trouble because you can sequence the songs EXACTLY the way you desire. Better than iPod Shuffle.

I have two 1G iRiver players and this is my third one (although of less capacity). Great value for the money. Since I listen to classical music, sound quality was very important and does not disappoint. Easy to load music from my computer w/out the somewhat obsolete iRiver software on disc. Drop and drag and start listening.
