AMD followed Intel to DDR2 memory just as dual-core came on the market. The memory controller is etched into AMD CPUs, so most dual core Athlon fit socket AM2. For persons still using computers with AMD processor that fit socket939 (DDR400 speed PC3200 memory modules), this is a hard-to-find dual-core upgrade. This model very nearly the fastest ever made, only the 4800+, same 2.4GHZ but with 2x larger cache is faster (by a little).
Did a great job. Packaged correctly and arrived in a timely fashion.

Just breathed new life into the ol' socket 939 Mobo; it's a PCChips we bought in 2005 and still going strong; the only other dual-core that would've fit was the 4800+, and the only difference there is the L2 cache; besides, the prices of 4800's are pretty steep! This was just as advertised; obviously used, but in great shape; went right in, no bent pins, and clean. Fired right up, running like a champ! Got it for $100, which was pretty lucky considering the prices of other 4600's. I'm happy. With a whole 2GB of RAM, a 512MB vid card, this'll do 'til we can afford to build a new unit! Woo-hoo! :-)
Needed an upgrade as my original single core 2GHz CPU wasn't cutting the mustard any more. I admit, I was hesitant in ordering from overseas, but the CPU arrived clean, well boxed and not a pin out of place. Dropped it in and let it heat cure for a week, then overclocked it 20% and it's humming along fine. Happy with the purchase.
He has the best quality / price ratio. Faster is just "60", but it costs twice as much. This is the best choice for the 939 socket.
