Okay...we are big fans of the previous three publications by Jamie Oliver so were keen to see this. This book has a slightly different premise as it served as a tie in to his Television show of the same name in which Jamie Oliver establishes a restaurant that is also a training school for a group of young people with possible aspirations to be a Chef! In encouraging them and indeed us to cook, he adopts his signature style of unfussy, unpretentious cooking with superb results! Again, this book also differs from other cookbooks as rather than dictate to us how we should cook, it is written in a colloquial manner, like a buddy chatting and Jamie encourages us to adopt our own style and method to our cooking! It is also packed with pictures of Jamie, his friends, his family and his home which makes us feel more comfortable! He has a useful "Getting yourself kitted out" section which lists the kitchen essentials such as a rolling pin and a pestle and mortar! Then he divides the books into chapters, which unlike his previous books, are divided into cooking methods and not food type. Chapters include - cooking without heat, steaming and cooking in the bag; and Grilling. This book is also more adventurous with offerings such as Ceviche or how about "Sardinian Culurzones with butternut squash and baked goats cheese".....yet as rich and complicated as these sound, the Naked Chef sticks to his signature style making it simple to prepare with easy to find ingredients....although a little more effort may be needed than in previous books , it is still something we can all do which is why this series stands apart from other how to cook books! Another great addition to the Jamie Oliver library!Read full review

Good book by a driven guy. I already make stellar mashed potatoes. Kind of complicated like real cooking should be to taste good. I will keep trying as I have no lessons in cooking but what I see on TV! This book came to me in fine condition at a very fair price! I find that the book's text is faint in places.
Great as usual ...
